  • An honourable mention should also go to Toro Rosso in 2017, their 'Renault' engines were badged as... Toro Rosso, for sponsorship purposes.

  • Top quality video. How many years/times did Mercedes put their badges on Ilmor F1 engines before they 100% took over the company? There was a great story of Ilmor testing for a big Indy Car race with Mercedes waiting at the gate with a truck load of stickers. It was quick, so they handed Ilmor a wad of cash, proceeding to rebadge it just in time for the race which iirc they won.

  • Fun fact: in the 2000 season, all 11 teams had differently-badged engines, partly thanks to the Fondmetal/Playlife/Petronas deals. By 2014, there were only three different engine badges on the grid - Ferrari, Mercedes, and Renault. I really miss the engine diversity of 2000s F1.

I love the details added in through the research, but give the narrator a chance with names by researching their pronunciation and giving them at least a basic phonetic form to use as part of the script.

It was also badged Mugen-Honda, as Mugen were the ones who prepared the engines and also continued to develop them in the mid-1990s when Honda dropped out of their F1 involvement before coming back at the end of the decade.
